I think it is most likely that every first lady has had some type of addiction and/or depression during their lonely white house years. The wife of Thomas Jefferson, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Onassis, Hillary Clinton to name just a few. Bravo to Betty Ford for speaking out and doing something to help. I am sure there are many who owe their lives to this incredible woman. Her legacy lives on.
