Korean boy band Shinhwa proved that their popularity has not declined despite their four-year absence, when tickets to their upcoming comeback concerts at Seoul’s Olympic Park Stadium were sold out barely 40 minutes after going on sale on Monday, reported Korean media.
The sextet have not performed together since their last concert in 2008, as some members worked on developing their solo careers, while others enlisted to serve their compulsory stint in the military.
“Thanks to our fans, we can ensure Shinhwa’s comeback after four years will be celebrated in style,” said Shinhwa’s leader Eric Mun in a statement.
“We are working on a great performance for the fans who have stuck with us for so long.”
Shinhwa (Korean for ‘Legend’) is often cited as one of the first modern Korean boy bands and is also one of the longest-lived in K-pop history, having been in the industry for some 14 years so far.
The band has produced dozens of hits like “T.O.P.”, “Only One”, “Perfect Man”, “Brand News” as well as “Once in a Lifetime”, since their debut in 1998.
