The Gibson Amphitheatre will close its doors in September, Live Nation Entertainment said Wednesday.
The venue, which opened in 1972 as Universal Amphitheatre and is located at Universal Studios Hollywood, will be replaced by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction.
The venue — which was rechistened the Gibson Amphitheatre in 2005, had events scheduled for after September 2013; ticketholders for those events are encouraged by Live Nation to hold onto their tickets, as the concert promoter is attempting to find new venues for those shows. Refunds will be given for shows that aren’t able to be relocated, Live Nation said.
