Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin split up after nearly 11 years of marriage because she did not want to return to live in London, it was claimed today.
The couple announced their “conscious uncoupling” in a statement on her lifestyle website Goop last night after rumours about troubles in their relationship.
They relocated from Belsize Park to Los Angeles last year, but the 37-year-old Coldplay frontman was apparently unhappy in the US, where the family also have a beachfront property in the Hamptons.
Paltrow, 41, reportedly wanted to raise their children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, in America to be close to her widowed mother Blythe Danner.
