In the aftermath of SHINee member Jonghyun’s tragic passing in December 2017, an old interview has surfaced that sheds new light on his contentious past relationship with SM Entertainment.
“My dream was originally becoming a songwriter. I picked singer as a way to achieve that dream more easily.” — Jonghyun
This is why he pub so much effort into the crafting of his mini solo album, BASE, which was released in January 2015. He expressed pride in having written all of the lyrics himself as well as executing the artistic direction of the album.
