Celebrating Michael Jackson’s Music

On this day, we celebrate the birth of a once-in-a-lifetime artist whose music transcended borders, cultures, and generations. Michael Jackson, born August 29, 1958, wasn’t just the King of Pop but the king of being a global icon whose artistry touched every corner of the world.

From the moment he moonwalked into history, Michael’s influence became undeniable. His music, dance, and humanitarian efforts left a lasting imprint, not just in the United States or the West, but across the globe.

In South Korea, where pop culture holds deep sway, Michael Jackson’s music helped pave the way for what would later become the K-pop wave. Local artists often cite him as their inspiration for performance style, choreography, and even their pursuit of global fame. His concerts in Seoul were more than entertainment—they were historical, emotional events.

In Japan, his impact was profound and deeply personal. Michael had a special connection with Japanese fans, often expressing his admiration for their culture. Japanese audiences respected his artistry in a way that made him feel understood and embraced. His visits were always met with immense love, and even now, his memorabilia and influence are revered in Japanese pop culture and dance schools.

Beyond Asia, transformed the music industry with his songs, choreography, and his historical music videos. Michael Jackson’s voice spoke a universal language.

His message of love, equality, and healing the world through music still resonates louder than ever.

Michael Jackson didn’t just sing to us—he united us.

Note: Although, this blog is written in the past tense, however, I prefer putting Michael Jackson’s legacy in the present rather than the past. Somehow, it eases the pain.

Favorite Michael Jackson Songs

Favorite Songs by Michael Jackson: Don’t Stop to ’til You Get Enough, Jam, Blood on the Dance Floor, Another Part of Me, Who Is It, Invincible Album. My list go goes on and on. 🙂 La Tray 🙂

Favorite Global Songs: “Stranger in Moscow” – a hauntingly beautiful piece that shows the depth of Michael’s soul. It’s one of his most introspective songs, and a reminder of the human behind the icon. No song embodies this more than “Earth Song” — Michael’s emotional cry for our planet, our people, and our future.

When Michael released Earth Song in 1995, it became a global anthem for environmental and social justice, a ballad that transcended language and culture. With powerful visuals and soul-stirring vocals, he asked questions no one else dared to pose on a world stage:
“What about us? What about nature? What about the animals? What about the children?”Earth Song
