CHANNEL NEWS ASIA REPORTED: Japanese singer Jin Akanishi’s management agency confirmed on Wednesday that he had quietly married popular Japanese singer-actress Meisa Kuroki on February 2, reported Japanese media.
“I, Jin Akanishi, am happy to announce that I married Meisa Kuroki on February 2,” said Akanishi in a statement to the media.
“I’ll do my best in both my work and my personal life, ” said Kuroki.
Akanishi, the former lead vocalist of Japanese music group Kat-tun, was spotted with Kuroki at the Tokyo DisneySea theme park in January, sparking rumours that the two shared an intimate relationship.

JPOP REPORTED: However, both their management agencies claimed they were “just friends” at the time.

After a week of a quiet marriage followed by a media frenzy, Jin Akanishi and Meisa Kuroki have released official statements on their surprise marriage.

The messages were posted on the newly wed’s respective websites:

To everyone who has supported me I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to report this to everyone. I, Kuroki Meisa, married Akanishi Jin on February 2nd. I am still immature, But I want to work even harder than before, And I hope to grow as a person. Please continue to give me your support. —Kuroki Meisa
