Boy band TVXQ finished their Japanese tour on a high note on Monday, ending a journey they began in January that saw them cover nine cities including Yokohama, Fukuoka and Nagoya.

They wrapped up the tour with three performances in as many days at the 45,000-capacity Kyosera Dome in Osaka. Thousands of fans packed the area near the stadium for hours before the concerts began, and many stood and cheered throughout the three-hour-long shows.

This tour was TVXQ’s first solo concert in Japan since 2010, when the pop quintet downsized to a two-man band after the other members left to form JYJ. The duo’s agency, SM Entertainment, said, “The 26-show tour attracted a total of 550,000 concertgoers and brought in around W100 billion in ticket revenues and merchandise sales (US$1=W1,140)”.

No other Korean group has attracted an audience of this size on a Japanese tour, it added.
