Two years ago, the White Stripes singer and guitarist and model Karen Elson threw a party to celebrate their ostensibly friendly break-up.

Now the pair, who were married in 2005, are caught up in a bitter custody battle, with Oldham-born Elson, 34, accusing her estranged husband of threatening her.

Filing for a temporary restraining order on July 19, she said White has a violent temper, sends her emails laced with profanity, and calls her derogatory names.

“Wife fears for her and the children’s safety as a result of this harassment,” the order reads, according to the Nashville City Paper.
