The body of Iuliana Tudos, 22, was found in an outbuilding close to a sports pitch in Finsbury Park on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Ms Tudos, who police said was of Russian and Greek origin, had last been seen by friends at around 8pm on December 24 when she headed for a bus home from Camden.

 She was due to meet them at a friend’s home in Enfield, north-east London, later that evening before spending Christmas Day there, but never arrived.

Mario Balotelli is likely to plead not guilty after the Football Association charged him with misconduct tonight over an inflammatory social media message, which contained an anti-Semitic stereotype.

The player faces a fine ban for a message described as “offensive” by the Jewish Leadership Council, which has already led to a public rebuke from his club. It is understood that Balotelli has not decided how to respond and will reflect on his next course of action, having been charged.

Police were forced to stab a dog to death after it clamped its jaws on an officer’s leg during a drugs raid.

The incident took place early today in a raid in Lewisham.

Scotland Yard said officers forced their way into the address and once inside a detective was bitten by the dog which then clamped its jaws onto his leg.

Other officers tried to remove it by hitting the dog with batons and firing CS spray into the dog’s face.

A preacher has been banned from a London university after likening being gay to having a “disease”.

Imran ibn Mansur, 24, also known as the self-styled Dawah Man who helps people be spiritual “superheroes”, was today banned from appearing at the University of East London.

He has blamed “filthy Western culture” for impulses which should be “supressed” and claimed that homosexuality comes “under the category of ‘obscene, filthy, shameless’.”

Actress Brooke Kinsella was hounded by an obsessive stalker who visited the grave of her murdered teenage brother, repeatedly sent her unwanted messages – and said he had bought her a wedding dress, a court heard.

Paul Mason, 40, constantly tried to meet the star and penned numerous fantasy love letters to her during a 15-month ordeal, promising her: “You will be my wife”.

The former EastEnders’ star, 31, described his behaviour as “scary” and “odd” as he was convicted yesterday for stalking between January 1 and April 4 last year.

This is the first picture of a teenager stabbed to death in the street in London, one of four murders in the capital in just over 24 hours.

David Maxwell, 18, collapsed and died outside a convenience store after being knifed in the back during an argument in Southwark.

He is the tenth teenager to be murdered in London so far this year.

Mr Maxwell was attacked in a row in Pilgrimage Street at 2.30pm on Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to save him by doctors and paramedics from the air ambulance service.

Joe Reay was hit by the car in the early hours of Saturday after leaving a sportsman’s dinner where British boxing legend Frank Bruno was guest speaker.

The 20-year-old former pupil of Chertsey’s Salesan School had been at the event at Woking Football Club, where his father Kelvin Reay is a director.

He was due to watch Chelsea FC on the day he was killed with his father who is a season ticket holder.

Actress and presenter Lynda Bellingham, who had been suffering from cancer, has died aged 66.

Her agent said the Canadian-born star died on Sunday “in her husband’s arms”.

Best known for her sting on ITV’s Loose Women and her role in the Oxo adverts, Lynda had been battling colon cancer, which later spread to her lungs and liver, since being diagnosed in July last year.

A toddler collapsed and died of a suspected sudden cardiac arrest in front of shocked commuters on a platform at London Bridge station.

Waiting passengers battled to revive the boy, aged three, before paramedics took over desperate attempts to rescuscitate him for 20 minutes.

He was rushed out on a stretcher followed by his distraught parents. He was pronounced dead in hospital at shortly before 10pm last night.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances regarding the death.

PR manager Melanie Hutchinson was waiting on the opposite platform and a train obstructed her view but told how she heard the child’s parents screaming.
