The Hong Kong actress needs to undergo spinal surgery immediately
Hong Kong TVB actress Charmaine Sheh was recently diagnosed with spinal disc herniation, better known as a slipped disc, and will be undergoing a spinal surgery soon, reported Hong Kong media.
The 38-year-old actress, who was absent at the 2013 TVB Anniversary Gala on Tuesday, shared during a phone interview yesterday that she has lost 2.7 kg over the past ten days and has to avoid wearing heels and visiting crowded places.
When asked about her surgery procedure, Charmaine revealed that there are high risks involved and that she may get paralysed if there are complications.
Charmaine also added that she has since turned down most of her event appearances and will be retreating from the limelight to focus on her recovery.
“I’m undergoing physiotherapy now and relying on painkillers to control the pain at night. I have not thought of my comeback plans but I hope to return to work in January,” she said.
