Jageer Mirgind, 29, was permanently scarred after she had her eyes gouged, was stabbed “several times” in the face and strangled in front of her two young children, aged just three and six.

Sikh Manjit Mirgind launched the savage attack at the woman’s home after accusing her of having an affair with a man of another faith.

Police were called to the address in Ilford, east London, after reports of an assault. When they arrived, they found the victim with arm and hand injuries, as well as devastating wounds to her eyes and face.
