Following recent confusion on whether or not Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend would be expecting their first child together, both parties have stepped up to clarify the situation.
On February 24, Kim Hyun Joong’s ex-girlfriend, Choi, spoke through her legal representatives, refuting previous claims that she could not be contacted, stating,“There is enough evidence to confirm the pregnancy and we are considering publicly releasing the information. In addition, Choi and Kim Hyun Joong have been in contact and have even met in person. Even today, the two have been in contact since the morning. However, we can’t release the content of the conversation between them.”
Kim Hyun Joong also released another statement through his agency,KEYEAST, saying, “We are not denying her pregnancy, rather we just wanted to clarify the situation by confirming it, but she has been unresponsive. We first heard news of her pregnancy in January and even received ultrasound pictures via phone messages. After this, Kim Hyun Joong, his father, and an acquantance met with her twice, on January 5th and January 7th. After that, the two have not met in person, but have contacted each other about going to the hospital to check on her and the condition of her body. They have not received her answer on this topic.
“We do not, by any means, dismiss her pregnancy, and like mentioned before, Kim Hyun Joong is fully willing to take responsibility for the child. It is common practice to visit the hospital when a mother is pregnant, to check on both the child and the mother’s conditions. It’s natural for Kim Hyun Joong and his parents to want to know whether or not Choi and the child are well.”
In August 2014, Kim Hyun Joong was accused of assault by his ex-girlfriend whom he had dated since 2012. After giving a sincere and official apology to both his fans and Choi, the two reconciled and she dropped the charges against him. However, one of the four counts of physical violence initially reported by Choi was reviewed by the Seoul courts, and Kim Hyun Joong was fined in January 2015 for 5 million won.
Following news of the artist becoming a father-to-be, Dispatch released a timeline of the events regarding the relationship between the two, including when they had dated, the date of assault, the date of the charges being dropped, and when he had found out of her pregnancy in January 2015.

Actress Shin Se Kyung might star as the lead female role in the upcoming SBSWednesday-Thursday drama series Sense of Men and Women, formerly known as The Girl Who Sees Smell.
While a broadcasting representative on February 22nd announced, “Shin Se Kyung has confirmed her casting and is preparing for the new SBS Wed-Thurs drama series ‘Sense of Men and Women,’” her agency, Namoo Actors, mentioned, “It is true that we got an offer, but we have not confirmed anything yet.”
Due to the importance of the female lead role in the drama, many actresses have been considered as a possible candidate for the role. As a result, there were talks that miss A‘sSuzy might be starring in the drama. However, it seems like Shin Se Kyung might take the role after all. This means that the actress is to make a comeback to the small screen after six months of hiatus since KBS 2TV’s dramaIron Man.
The drama, originally based on a popularity webtoon, deals with a story of a guy who became senseless after losing his sister from a murder case and a girl with extrasensory perception who miraculously survived from the murder case but suffers from a memory loss of the time before the incident. Although the lead female role has an optimistic personality, she is the type of person who cannot just stand injustice. She is weak to the weaker ones and strong to the stronger ones. Due to her hasty personality, however, she often causes inconvenience to people surround her.
The lead male role has been confirmed to be JYJ‘s Park Yoochun a while back. PD Baek Soo Chan and script writer Lee Hee Myungwill work together for the drama.
Meanwhile, Sense of Men and Women is set to air its premiere episode in April after the completion of Hyde, Jekyll and I.

Ko Young Wook, entertainer and former member of Roo’ra, is scheduled to be discharged from prison on July 10th.
The news surfaced that Ko Young Wook has 117 days left until his discharge day, which is July 10th. He has been patiently waiting for the date and caused no problems while serving his sentence.
According to a related personnel, “He has been visited by his families and close friends once in a while. He did not cause any problems during his imprisonment. If he does not cause any particular problems, he will be discharging on July 10th as scheduled.”
In 2013, the Supreme Court of Korea sentenced Ko Young Wook to two years and six months of imprisonment after being convicted of sexual assault against minors. After being discharged, his personal information will be made public for five additional years and his location will be known at all times for three additional years.
The case came into light after he was caught committing sexual assaults between July 2010 and February 2012. He has sexually assaulted three minors in four different occasions.
Ko Young Wook is currently serving his sentence at Anyang Prison in Seoul.

Hitting their 10th debut anniversary this year, Super Junior‘s Sungmin and Shindonghave been recently confirmed to be preparing for their mandatory military enlistment next month. Unfortunately, the two members will not be going in together nor in the same camp.
According to various music official on February 24th, Sungmin will be departing on March 31st and entering the 17th Infantry Division of Bucheon where he will begin his military training before entering active duty.
On the other hand, Shindong will be entering a week earlier on March 24th through the 28th Infantry Division of Yeoncheon. Originally, Shindong was supposed to join the army last year, but due to lumbar disc pains, his enlistment was postponed following treatments.
SM Entertainment confirms with Star News, who reported an exclusive on the news, that both members have in fact received their enlistment letters and will be joining before the end of March. The two Super Junior members will be serving for the next 21 months following their entrance into the training camps.
Super Junior is currently on their Super Show 6 worldwide tour, but with the news of enlistment, the Macau stop on March 1st may be the last stop for Sungmin and Shindong.
