After a nasty, prolonged divorce battle, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have finally reached a settlement — one that leaves Demi without spousal support from her now-ex-husband.
TMZ reports that Moore tried to claim she was due spousal support because Kutcher allegedly cheated on her during their marriage. But the site notes that California is a no-fault divorce state, meaning that neither party is assigned blame for the split and therefore no one is required to pay spousal support; once Moore realized that, she gave up her claim.
A source told TMZ that Kutcher was “a little more generous than he had to be” in the division of the pair’s assets, but for the most part, everything acquired during their union was divvied up equally. The site added:
“[O]ur sources say aside from cheating, [Moore] was pissed because she felt Ashton was hiding some of his tech businesses from her and she wanted a piece. In the end, we’re told they are both satisfied with the settlement.”
And we’re satisfied that their divorce is finally over. Here’s hoping we can all move on.
