A small plane carrying Mexican American singer Jenni Rivera is missing and believed to have crashed in northern Mexico early Sunday.

The Associated Press reported the plane, a Learjet, left Monterrey about 3:30 a.m. after a concert by Rivera. The pilot lost contact with air traffic contollers about 10 minutes after its departure. It was scheduled to arrive in Toluca, near Mexico City, about an hour later.

An NBCUniversal spokeswoman confirmed that Rivera was aboard the plane. Seven people, including the pilots and crew, were believed to be on the plane.

The Long Beach native’s career has been soaring. The 43-year-old singer is best known for her interpretations of regional Mexican music, norteno and banda. She also is one of NBCUniversal’s brightest bilingual television stars.

Her reality show on the Telemundo cable channel, mun2, “I Love Jenni,” has been one of the channel’s highest rated shows. The program is in its second year.

ABC television network was reportedly considering casting Rivera as a star of a prime-time sitcom in development about a strong-willed single Latina mother.

The AP said that a search for the plane was launched early Sunday.

Jay Chou wants the “Gangnam Style” frenzy to stop, or at least to stop being performed by Taiwanese singers.

Channel News reported that during an award ceremony that was held in Beijing on 2 December, the singer urged Mandarin music stars to “unite” and stay ahead of the Korean wave.

Jay stated, “All artistes should unite and don’t “Gangnam Style” anymore. Yes, it is quite humorous, but Mandarin music is much cooler.”

The multi-talented star also added that Mandarin music fans should support Mandarin music, and “not let the Korean wave get too strong”.

However, netizens find it ironic that the singer made the statement whilst sporting blonde hair that resembled a lot of Korean pop stars.

However, Chou dismissed allegations saying that he copied the image, saying the blonde hair is to match his well-defined eight pack abs.

A student in medicine 19 years from Burgundy was crowned Miss France Saturday, December 8th 2013, a title she wants to take to promote the cause of children and organ donation.

Marine Lorphelin, Miss Burgundy , beat Miss Tahiti and Miss Pas-de -Calais, Miss Martinique and Miss Pays de Loire, at the end of an evening organized at the Zenith of Limoges and broadcast by TF1.

This pretty brunette with green eyes 1.76 indicated that my dream was to becomean obstetrician or pediatrician. It intends to use its title to “defend the cause of children and organ donation” . “When we talk more, I think that attitudes can change” , says the girl, who has a sister 15 years and a brother 12 years.

She introduced herself as someone “natural, generous and Endorsement” , “who will discover with pleasure all the regions of France and the world if possible” in his new role.

She, as is tradition, burst into tears on hearing she had won, while the actor Alain Delon , the life president of the jury, he plastered one kiss in the neck after having proclaimed.

 

Trembling voice, the new Miss France immediately called on viewers to make a donation to the Telethon, organized charity marathon this weekend in France tofinance research on rare genetic diseases.
