Taylor Swift chipped her tooth on stage.

The 23-year-old singer accidentally hit herself in the face with her microphone while she was belting out hit song ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ during her ‘Red’ show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, causing permanent damage to her pearly whites.

Speaking to Rolling Stone a few days after the incident, Taylor explained: ”Tonight I was particularly hung up on not chipping another tooth like last show in Pittsburgh, definitely. It had a tip on [the tooth] and it doesn’t anymore.

”I try to be really quick with the microphone, so I’m not standing there just waiting to sing with my mic right next to my face, so I really quickly pulled my mic up to sing and basically uppercut punched myself in the tooth.”

Taylor is no stranger to embarrassing stage malfunctions, and was memorably left red-faced when her skirt blew up to reveal her big white underpants in front of a sell-out crowd in St. Louis in 2011.

The ‘Everything Has Changed’ hitmaker was also mortified when Kanye West stormed the stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards as she was being presented with the Best Female Video prize.

The rapper cut her off, grabbed the mic and launched into an angry rant about why Beyonce should have won instead of Taylor.
