The queen of soul is taking her place in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Aretha Franklin is one of six people who’ll be inducted into the Hall on Aug. 14 in Hendersonville, Tenn. She’ll be joined by bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, family group The Hoppers, contemporary Christian singer Dallas Holm, the late TV evangelist Rex Humbard and Christian rock band Love Song.
Franklin’s gospel roots run deep, starting with her father who was a prominent Baptist minister. Her 1972 album, “Amazing Grace,” has sold over 2 million copies and is one of the best-selling gospel albums of all time.
The Gospel Music Hall of Fame was established in 1971. More than 150 members have been inducted, including Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley.

According to The Miami Herald, Just as the one-year anniversary of the Prince William’s royal wedding to Kate Middleton rolls around, it’s looking like Americans may have a royal wedding, too: of the rock and roll variety.
Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough has been photographed in what looks to be an engagement ring. Her boyfriend is Brit bad boy Alex Pettyfer, Keough’s boyfriend of six months whom she met on the set of the upcoming movie Magic Mike. Pettyfer, 21, was last linked to Glee’s Dianna Agron, his costar in I Am Number Four, and dated Julia Roberts’ niece Emma Roberts.
As for Keough, the 22-year-old model and actress ( The Runaways) is Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter with ex husband, musician Danny Keough, whom Lisa divorced in 1994.

According to The Boot, Lauren Alaina is headed to Memphis to flip the switch at Elvis Presle’s Graceland, kicking off the holiday season by illuminating the iconic estate’s elaborate Christmas display, which includes hundreds of blue lights along the driveway and a life-size nativity scene. The first thing Simon would have said is ” Do Not Imitate Elvis, be original and bring out your sound and make it work for you. That is what David Cook and Adam Lambert did, made the songs their own.
Are you kidding me? Scotty and Paul sound AWFUL and the judges had the audacity to lie to them and said they were great! I hate to keep bringing up Adam Lambert however, If Adam had done those songs they would have sworn ELVIS WAS BACK AND ALIVE.. Season 8 was the best ever!
